As temperatures dip and we wrap up, it’s finally time to embrace winter layering and cosy quilts.
Helping you find the perfect balance between warmth and style this season, we spoke to content creator and menswear specialist, Naji Basma (@najibasma). Whether you just want some new ideas, or you’re looking to explore your style a bit further outside of the box, Naji takes us through his top tips for styling this winter.
When it comes to Barbour International, I typically think of quality biker jackets and very cool, clean-cut silhouettes. However, what makes a piece of clothing worthwhile for me to invest in is the ability to style it in various ways, dressed up or dressed down, for various occasions and most importantly with any of the clothes I already own.
The new Barbour International collection felt like exactly that, so I’m going to show you how I’d style a few of their new staple pieces with three different looks.
My go-to for most days is a casual outfit that’s both comfortable and practical but also has a bit more of an edge, I can wear it through the day and even to go out later in the evening.
For this I’d pick the Gresham Wax Jacket in black, it has boxy bomber jacket-like silhouette with some nice pocket details and a foldable collar. Pairing this with some khaki cargo pants and lace-up boots creates a very on-trend look for this season. Accessories just add that next layer to an outfit so for this I’m going with the black Sport Cap and Dulwich Holdall. I love how weatherproof a lot of these pieces are too, it was pouring down with rain that day and not even a drop got through the jacket or holdall, keeping all of my gear safe.
For those days where I’m just popping to the shops, going for a coffee or chilling with friends, I like to wear something cosy. The Condition Fleece is the perfect piece for this - the Borg texture has a super soft, cosy feel to it and it’s very easy for layering up over a hoodie or under a coat, for that extra layer of warmth. Pairing this with some matching cargo trousers and sneakers adds that bit more detail whilst sticking with the comfort overall.
These days I like to keep minimal, so just my Barbour International leather Billfold coin wallet to carry my cards and essentials fits perfectly in the chest pocket of the fleece gilet.
Sticking with versatility, as we transition into the colder months a quality weatherproof jacket becomes essential. For this I chose the Ride Jacket it is waterproof and felt super insulated so I was able to just wear a thin turtleneck underneath. I paired this with the black cargo trousers and some lace-up boots to create a look that could be both smart and classy, at the same time as practical. Again, I’ve always got my essentials on the go - the leather Barbour Wallet and Holdall are a perfect match-up for this.
